Car service schedule — what to do at every milestone
Regular service is the cheapest insurance for your car. Here is a simple milestone guide for petrol and diesel cars.
Every 10,000 km / 1 year
Engine oil and filter, basic inspection of brakes, tyres, lights and fluids.
Every 20,000–30,000 km
Air filter, cabin filter, brake-pad check, wheel alignment and balancing.
Every 40,000–50,000 km
Brake fluid, coolant, spark plugs (petrol), and a closer look at the suspension and battery.
Watch the warning signs
Unusual noises, vibration, longer braking, or any dashboard light means book a check early. Estimate ownership cost before you buy with the fuel cost and EMI tools.
